For the love of art.. Creativity has always been at the very heart of WATERMANs identity. As fresh proof of the way it values creativity, the brand is now supporting sponsorship activities in favour of the arts and culture, as well as the creation of the agnès b. Endowment Fund which the designer set up in her own name a year ago. For the first time, WATERMAN and agnès b. are orchestrating a meeting of their two creative worlds. What links WATERMAN with the designer is the same stylistic approach, a combination of timeless values with touches of modernity, a sense of contour and an attention to detail but also the same willingness to defend freedom of design. To celebrate this partnership, agnès b. has adapted one of the basics in the WATERMAN range, Hémisphère. On it you will find polkadots, but also the point dironie* mark. *Invented by French writer Alcanter de Brahm at the end of the 19th century, the ? is a punctuation mark used at the end of sentences to indicate a sense of irony in the text. It is agnès dream that someday the ? will be integrated in to the keyboards of computers and portable telephones. Half magazine, half poster, the point dironie arose during a conversation between agnès b., artist Christian Boltanski and museum curator Hans-Ulrich Obrist in 1997.
